FEARLESS FREE-MOTION II - BEYOND THE BASICS
Eric introduced you to the basics in "Fearless Free-Motion Stitching I - For Beginners". It was an incredible success and we thank you. He covers some of the basics again in this course (so you do not necessarily have to take the first course before this one); and we include a free, 26-page hand-out from the basic course to help you along on this adventure if you haven't taken it. (And for those who have, as well, as a refresher.)

Of course, you will be using your own print of choice, but the techniques can be the same.

Lesson 4 - Thread Painting - The basics and the Fabulous Fleur de Lis
All done with just a relaxing, slow-moving, straight stitch, Eric makes it look easy, because it is. His insights will help you learn a technique you've always wanted to do.
Eric shows that using a proper hoop, and good hooping technique, gives you great control and freedom to make an art piece.
- We provide the pattern to you.
- Transferring the pattern(s) to your stabilizer or fabric: Two different techniques - Printed pattern and tracing
- Which stabilizers work best for this
- Choosing the thread weight for the end project
- Choosing a cut-away stabilizer and/or water soluble and removing the stabilizer magically
Lesson 5 - Ash Tree Wall Hanging
Through our partnership with Frond Design Studios, we are bringing you an absolutely stunning wallhanging. Frond has provided the pattern, we've added a Tip Sheet on how we quilted it and what we used for that. We also show you how to do perfect, easy turned appliqué, which is optional, but amazing.
Eric steps out the project for you. You can make the entire six-block wallhanging with a kit (available at www.sulky.com). Or, make pillows or individual blocks as wallhangings or table toppers. The magnificent Frond fabrics just beg for print embellishing and beautiful quilting. They are the kind of fabrics that are indeed hard to cut up.
Eric will walk you through:
- Cutting and piecing
- Fussy cutting the fabrics
- Optional turned appliqué
- Raw edge appliqué
- Magnificent quilting ideas using some of the techniques you just learned
Lesson 6: BONUS TRUNK SHOW
See lots of samples of Eric's magnificent work, as well as other examples of free-motion stitching using the techniques that Eric will teach you. You will be so excited and motivated!
Lesson 7: BONUS MAGICAL QUILT BINDING
